YMC-Pack Pro C8和C4采用完全端基封尾技术将极大程度上降低可能会影视其品质的硅羟基残留,因此非常适于碱性物质的分离。其疏水性相较于ODS偏弱,因此可分离疏水性上存在较大差异的物质以便缩短分离时间。同时,由于其对亲水性物质和平面物质的分离行为与ODS存在差异,因此YMC-Pack Pro C8和C4对那些在ODS上无法实现有效分离的物质亦有效。

| 使用Pro C8和Pro C4进行的分离优化
与C18相比,分析物在Pro C8和Pro C4的保留时间相对较短,当填料的烷基链长度变短时,氢基能力会趋向于变大,因此,不仅在保留时间上而且分离选择性也可能与C18存在差异。使用Pro C18时,即使改变流动相条件也不易实现高效分离。而C8和C4可以在短时间内完全分离这些物质。如图所示,C8和C4可能对那些难以用C18实现高效分离的物质有效。
